My name is Krystal and my wife and I have been taken on a surprise journey over the past few months. Late last year I was diagnosed with a genetic condition called Von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) disease. Along with Renal Cell Carcinoma (a form of kidney cancer) on both kidneys. In the past few months I’ve received surgery on both kidneys to remove the cancerous tumors and have made a full recovery. Although I’m still undergoing treatment for my condition doctors have recommended if I want to bare child I should start sooner rather than later as I will need more treatment further down the line. My dream is to be able to carry at least one of our children but now with my condition I need to be more careful to ensure our child doesn’t get the gene for VHL. My wife and I are needing IVF with a genetic test to ensure the health of our baby. We are asking for any help from everyone to help us move forward with our family on our journey. Thank you so much!
